Richard Layher, 80 of Hillsville, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Layher is survived by his wife, Leona Layher of the home; sons & daughters-in-law Chris & Lynne Layher of Winston Salem, NC, Lynn & Debbie Layher of Hillsville, and Kent & Eng Layher of Winston Salem, NC; brother & sister-in-law Gottlier Frederick & Erma Layher of Nevada, MO; sister & brother-in-law Bonnie & Dory Craig of Spring Hill, Kansas; and six grandchildren Jessich Layher, Rebecca Layher, Holly Wilcox, Harry Layher, Marcus Layher, and Cora Layher.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 10:00 AM with Rev. Steve Stephenson officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday night at the funeral home.
