Richard Lee Goad, 49 of Dobson, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008. Mr. Goad was preceded in death by his father Kermit Lee Goad. He is survived by his wife Melissa Kay Goad of Troy, VA; mother & step father Dorothy & Ralph L. Edwards of Ridgeway, VA; step mother Phyllis A. Goad of Hillsville; daughters & sons-in-law Nicole & Chad Collins of Mt. Airy, NC and Randi Elizabeth & Timothy Baskett of Hillsville; son & daughter-in-law Sgt. Jesse & Laura Goad of Ft. Riley, KS; sister & brother-in-law Robin & Steven Heidler of Greensboro; step brother & spouse Michael & Sandra Edwards of Asheville, NC; grandchildren Jesse Tyler Goad and Kayleigh Irene Goad both of Ft. Riley, KS and Hailey Nicole Collins of Mt. Airy, NC; special cousin Betty L. Bray of North Carolina; and many other cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Brother Cliff Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the Isaac Banks Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday night from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
