Richard James Gardner, 58 of Woodlawn, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Gardner was born in Galax, Virginia to the late James and Betty Ayers Gardner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Gardner.

Survivors include his son, Jake Gardner; sister, Darlene Gardner; nephews, Travis Bunn, James Felts, and Tyler Felts and wife, Teila; great-nephew, Braxton McCoy Felts; and special friend, Shelby Choate.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Woodlawn United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dina Clower officiating. In lieu of flowers; in honor of Ricky Gardner, donations can be made to Jake's college fund in c/o Joe Gardner, 89 Canterbury Lane, Woodlawn, VA 24381. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
