Richard Wayne Brooks, Sr., 59 of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at his home.  Mr. Brooks was born in Carroll County to the late John L. Brooks, Jr. and Mary Helen Marshall Brooks.

Survivors include his children, Richard Brooks, Jr. and Brittany Dawn Brooks; grandchildren, Lynzi Rae Elledge, Kaylee Dawn Elledge, and Madelyn Charmaine Elledge; sisters, Sherry and Ronald Moser and Linda and Jimmy Durnil; and special friends, Dana Roberts and Sandy Cochran.

A private graveside service with inurnment will be held at the Brooks Family Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
