Richard Anderson Banks, 72, of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Lewis Gale – Pulaski Hospital.  Mr. Banks was born in Carroll County on March 28, 1944.  He was preceded in death by his father, John Cassell Banks; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Amburn and Pauline Semones; and brothers-in-law, Lewis Semones and Freddie Horton.

Survivors include his wife, Zenith S. Banks and daughter, Cheryll Dawn Banks of the home; mother, Alta Hulen McGrady Banks of Hillsville; siblings and spouses, Leonard Dale and Sue Banks of Hillsville, Sharon Kay and Clark Martin of Salem, Kathryn  and Billy Horton of Fancy Gap, Julia Ann Banks of Hillsville, Pamela Jean Banks of Hillsville, and John Cassell (J.C.) Banks II and wife, Kim of Fancy Gap; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and spouses, Delton Semones of Hillsville, Marie Horton of Hillsville, Joe and Wanda Semones of Hillsville, Tony and Judy Semones of Max Meadows, and Emma and Jim Shupe of Waverly, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services at this time. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
