Rhonda A. Bowman Moore, 51, of Dugspur, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away May 7, 2006 at her residence. She was born January 1, 1955 in Stuart, VA to Rush and Loraine Bowman. She was an accomplished equestrian and in the 80s was named Virginia Horsewoman of the Year by the Virginia Racking Horse Association. Rhonda earned an associates degree in nursing from Wytheville Community College and became a registered nurse. A dedicated, caring nurse, she touched patients lives at Pulaski Community Hospital, Radford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the office of Dr. James King. Rhonda will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, Rush Bowman. Survivors include husband Ryland Moore of Dugspur; her daughter, Nicole Lawson and fianc Jason Howery of Floyd; step-children Robby & Sherry Moore of Dugspur and Lisa & Billy Jerrell of Dugspur; mother Loraine Bowman of Radford; brother & sister-in-law Danny & Brenda Bowman of Jefferson, NC; sister & brother-in-law B.J. & Peter Wood of Radford; granddaughter Kendra Lawson; step grandchildren Jeffery Howery, Eustica Smith and Ryan Moore; two nephews and one niece.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 A.M. officiated by the Pastor Duane Steel. Burial will follow in the Laurel Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday night at the funeral home. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville is in charge of arrangements.
