Reva May Painter, 85, of Laurel Fork, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Painter was born in Patrick County, VA to the late Henderson Dalton Culler and Valeria Stanley Culler. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walker Painter; an infant son; brother, Allen Culler; and sisters, Wavie Kimble, Mecie Terry, and Mary Jessup. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nellie and Waymon, Jr. Light of Hillsville; son and daughter-in-law, Burton and Terri Painter of Meadows of Dan; grandsons and spouse, James and Sandra Light of Laurel Fork and David Light of Hillsville; great grandchildren, Ashley Light, Sarah Light, Justin Light, and Kelly Light; step grandchildren, Charly Frost, Franklin Roop, and Daniel Hall; and step great grandchildren, Reagan Frost and Addison Roop. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wendell Horton and Pastor Nathan Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Painter Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
