Regina "Gina" Porter White, 54, of Martinsville, Virginia went to be with Jesus on Friday November 27, 2020 while surrounded by her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her mother, DeLavender Dawn Mayer, and one brother Matthew Porter.

Regina is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Tyler Byrd; sister and brother-in-law, Renee and Terry Mize; nieces and nephews, Misty Perez, Robert Matthew "Bubba" Perez, Marissa Perez, Isabella Perez, Shannon Cassell and husband, Eric, and Christy Foley and husband, Jeff; great-nieces and great-nephews, Carrie Cassell, Cameron Cassell, Brett Foley, and Addy Foley; special family, Charlie White and Teresa and Jerry White; very best friend, Sonia Yancey; and cats, Bo and Izzy.

Gina was a free spirit and cherished her loved ones tremendously. She brought a smile and comfort to everyone she encountered, and knew how to find the best in everything. She had a passion for art and writing, and loved to share her work with others. Gina was always up for adventure, especially taking trips and weekends with her daughter. Gina was an inspiration to everyone who knew her, and influenced so many young lives during her time in the school system. She was a lover of all things pure, and held her faith above all.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
