Rebecca Annie Vaughn Austin, age 80 of Austinville, and lovingly known as "Maw Maw Annie", passed away at her home on Thursday, October 13, 2022. She was born in the Iron Ridge Section of Carroll County on August 28, 1942 to the late Steven Daniel and Susie Webb Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Mickey Austin; and siblings, Barbara Vaughn, Gladys Vaughn, Ophelia Goad, Delmer Vaughn, Dessie White, Glendye Vaughn, Guida Hillick, Marshall Vaughn, Ray Vaughn, John Vaughn, and Coy Vaughn.

Annie was widely known as "Maw Maw Ann" having been a baby sitter for well over 50 years. She babysat for her family, the community, and the state of Virginia through-out the years.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Jimmy Young and Amy and Patrick Sykes, all of Austinville; grandchildren, Alyssa Payge Sykes, Adyn Blake Sykes, Declan Trace Sykes, Dagan Michael Sykes, and Brylan Fore-Sykes; great-grandson, Kolton Everett Okoa Sykes; special nieces, Beverly Phillips, Edna Grubb, and Mindy Vaughn Pedrero; siblings, Bob Vaughn of Navarre, OH and Dean Vaughn of Austinville; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Pleasant View Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Travis Vaughn, Bobby Phillips, Jody Marshall, Adyn Sykes, Declan Sykes and Ethan Ayers are serving as pallbearers and Dagan Sykes and Brylan Fore-Sykes are honorary pallbearers. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
