Raymond Paul Wright, 76, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Wright was born in Carroll County to the late Glen Wright and Opal Nester Wright. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Polly Goad Wright; sisters and brother-in-law Glenna Shockley and Elaine and Billy Jennings; and step mother Edna Reece Wright. Survivors include his brother Clinton W. Wright and wife Dora of Martinsville; brother-in-law Thomas Shockley of Hillsville; special friend Betty Goad of Fancy Gap; ten nephews and their families; and special great nephew Jacob Shockley. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Roy McVey officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
