Ray H. Sumner, 66 of Cleveland, OH, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Sumner was born in Carroll County to the late Lemuel & Amanda Wilson Sumner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Michael Wayne Sumner. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law Rayburn & Gina Sumner of Winder, GA; daughter & son-in-law Rebecca & Greg Stone of Austinville; siblings & their spouses Russell & Judy Sumner of Winston Salem, NC, Mildred & Carroll Martin of King, NC, Marshall & Linda Sumner of Galax, Shirley Nester of Tennessee, and Sylvia S. Phillips of Mississippi; sister-in-law Juanita Sumner of Mt. Airy, NC; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dale Akers and Rev. Robert Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
