Ray Parson "R.P." Taylor, 84, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mr. Taylor was born in Wythe County to the late James M. and Myrtle Frost Taylor. He is survived by his wife Mamie Shockley Taylor of the home; daughter Jane Taylor of Mount Airy, NC; and niece and spouse Deborah and Reece Matoy of Sweet Water, TN. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Dr. Lawrence Childs and Pastor Chip Neely officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Masonic Lodge #193 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at 12:00 PM and lasting until service time at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Twin County Humane Society P.O. Box 125 Hillsville, VA 24343 or to the charity of your choice.
