Ray Earl Hill, 81 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial.  Mr. Hill was born April 14, 1942 to the late Romie and Gladys Hill.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hodge Hill.

Survivors include his sons, Preston (Amanda) Hill, Don Hill, and John (April) Hill; daughters, Amy Hill and Donna Hill (Tony Swink); siblings, Junior (Tina) Hodge, Billy (Carolyn) Hodge, Kenneth (Denise) Hodge, Helen Edwards, Ada Hill, Della (Robert) Rich, Zana Jarells, Vanessa (Jeff) Utt; special aunt, Uda Harmon; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Greg) Iroler, Garret Hill (Shawna Hayton), Ben Felts, Courtney (Aisha) Raleigh, Caleb Hill, Hannah Hill (Cory Frazier), Cady Smith, Kimberli Smith, Amber Roseberry (Jesse Webb), Mary Beth Roseberry (Marcus Barr); great-grandchildren, Abigail, Autumn and  Sydney Felts, Austin Hill, and Corbyn Hagerman; and numerous nieces and nephews he loved like grandchildren and who called him PawPaw Ray.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Chuck Neal and Pastor Billy Burnett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Grayson County Post 7726.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
