Randy Elton
Horton
September 12, 1960 – March 12, 2026
Randy Elton Horton, beloved father and friend, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the age of 65.
Born on September 12, 1960, in Hillsville, Virginia, Randy lived a life centered around family, friendship, and laughter. Whether at work, at home, or among friends, he was always quick to make those around him smile.
Randy was a devoted father who took great pride in his two sons, Zachary and Austin Horton. He cherished the time they spent together—whether sharing stories, offering advice, enjoying a simple game of catch, or passing along life lessons learned from years on the farm. He enjoyed farming, sports, and spending time with the people he loved most. His presence, guidance, and sense of humor created memories his loved ones will carry with them always.
He is survived by his loving sons, Zachary Horton and Austin Horton (Madison); his stepmother, Rebecca Horton; his sister, Brenda Bowman; his brother-in-law, Danny Bowman; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walker Horton; his mother, Mattie Horton; his uncle, Olin Horton; his aunts, Opal Horton and Eunice Horton; and his grandparents, Issac "Ike" Horton and Artie Horton.
Though his family and friends feel the deep loss of his passing, they are grateful for the love, laughter, and memories he shared throughout his life. Randy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure.
