Ralph William White, of Sylvatus, Virginia was called to his heavenly rest on February 9th 2023. Ralph was born September 20th of 1933, to Orvin and Edith White. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lois Jennings White. Volunteering for military service during the Korean War in 1951, he served with distinction at Headquarters USAFE in Wiesbaden, Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1955. Ralph completed a career of 29 years as freight operator before beginning his law enforcement career. He served the citizens of Carroll County VA as deputy and court bailiff for the Carroll County Sheriff's Department from 1982 to 2011.

Ralph is survived by his four children, Yvette Leonard (Bobby Leonard), of Hillsville, VA; Devona Cockerham (Eddie Cockerham), of Galax, VA; Denton White (Jean A. White), of Niagara Falls NY, and Krista Nelson (Mike Nelson) of Elkin, NC. Also surviving Ralph are 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, along with 1 great-great grandchild.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Hill Cemetery with Pastor Denton White officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Bethel Brethren In Christ Church 585 Deer Ridge Road Hillsville, Virginia 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
