R. G. Shupe, 64, of Austinville, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2006 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady & Alma Shupe, and a brother, Dairel Shupe. He is survived by his wife, Maudie Edmonds Shupe of the home, a daughter, Elizabeth A. Shupe of Austinville, a son and his fiance, Ronald Dwain Shupe and Sandy Prewitt of Hillsville; a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda & Basil Gallimore of Austinville; special friends, Ryan Prewitt, Roger Carpenter, R. P. & Maime Taylor, all of Hillsville; and several nieces and nephews.

The service will be on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel with Rev. Nelson Gallimore officiating. Burial will follow in the Shupe Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2006 from 7 to 9 PM at the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel.
