Phyllis Jean Marrs Keyes, 89 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at her home.  Mrs. Keyes was born in Ameagle, WV to the late Daniel Harmon Marrs and Bessie Eskings Marrs.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Jesse Keyes; son, Danny Keyes (Rose); great-grandson, Morgan Daniel Phillips; great-granddaughters, Faith Renee Keyes and Adalynn Faith Murphy; daughter-in-law, Nadeen Keyes; brother, James Marrs; and sisters, Janice Stover and Drema Alexander (Robert).

Survivors include her children, Donna Prophitt (Allen), Garry Keyes, Kimy Keyes, Rex Keyes, Rodney Keyes (Connie), and Tina Huff (Mark); sister-in-law, Pat Marrs; brother-in-law, George Stover; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like express a special thank you to Intrepid USA Hospice at Home for all the wonderful help they provided allowing us to care for her at home. They also want to express a big thank you to the family members who cared for her at home, Kaitilin Vaughn, Shannon Prophitt, Sarah Conner, Donna Prophitt, and Tina Huff.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with grandson-in-law, Rodney Phillips officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
