Philip Owen Martin, 95 of Hillsville passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Twin County Regional Hospital. He is preceded in death by his daughter Joyce Slate and parents Philip and Mary Elizabeth Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Eula Martin of the home; Son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Syndie Martin of Lynchburg; Grandchild and spouse, Robert and Meghan Martin; Son-in-law Richard Slate; Sisters-in laws, Connie Nester and Velma Roberts. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Martin served in the Masons for 70 years and was a member of the Hillsville VFW Grover King Post 1115.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens in Galax, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Martin family.
