Pauline Q. Sutphin, 87, of Allisonia VA, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Sutphin was born August 14, 1925 in Carroll County to the late Buster Quesenberry and Lockie Marshall Quesenberry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Sutphin; sister, Mary Sue Goad and special friend and in-law, Mary Jane Mabry. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gene D. and Betty M. Sutphin of Allisonia, VA; two granddaughters and spouse, Julia Kristie Sutphin and Holly Sutphin Worrell and Jason Worrell; two great grandchildren, Meriam Worrell and Jeffrey Worrell all of Allisonia VA; sister, Betty Slone of Dugspur; brothers and sisters-in-law Sanford Quesenberry of Salem, Mowyer (Tally) and Edith Quesenberry of Allisonia, and James (Jimmy) and Martha Ann Quesenberry of Hillsville; several nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law George (Joe) Sutphin of Salem. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dennis Trail officiating. Burial will follow in the James L. Marshall Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
