(Dalton) King

Pauline Frances (Dalton) King, 88, of Berwick and formerly of Hillsville, VA, went to be with her beloved life partner, her late husband, Carlos H. King, on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the Bloomsburg Healthcare Center. Born in Hillsville, VA on January 27, 1920, she was a daughter the late John Martin Dalton and Della (Lineberry) Dalton. She married her husband, Carlos, in October 1939 and was widowed after nearly fifty-six years of marriage on August 26, 1995. Pauline graduated from high school in Hillsville. She was a loving homemaker and mother, caring for her husband and daughter, Jeanette. She fondly remembered her days as a child growing up on her familys farm. Pauline enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her roses. She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles and always treasured the time she had with her family and friends. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church of Hillsville. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Nevius, with whom she lived for the past seven years, Berwick. Other surviving family members include: grandson, Douglas Randy Woodruff of Louisiana; two great grandsons; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marye Cochran of Jamison, PA; special niece, Nell Horton & her friend, George Edwards and her family of Hillsville; special nephew, Martin Henley & his wife Merrily and their family, along with many other nieces and nephews. Pauline was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde M. Dalton and her son-in-law, Daniel Nevius, Jr.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 11th from 9:30 AM until 10:30AM at Vaughan- Guynn-McGrady Chapel, in Hillsville, VA. A graveside service with burial following will be held at Shiloh Cemetery on Friday, April 11th at 11:00 AM.
