Our Dusty entered into his heavenly home January 17, 2021, at the age of 41. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Donna Harris of Hillsville; his sister, Ashlee of Orlando, FL; his uncles Charles (C.M.) Edwards of Fancy Gap; Robert Harris (Judy), of Greenville, KY; and David Harris (Judy) of Richmond, VA; and his aunts, Jaime Bruce of South Point, OH; and Victoria Harris of Harrisonburg, VA. He also leaves behind his beloved cousins and his many friends that were nothing short of family to him.

Dusty was born November 25, 1979, in Wilmington, NC. He was a traveler, collector, lover of french fries, boiled peanuts, and all things music. Dusty spent many years working as a merchandiser, touring with entertainers and managing the sales of their goods. This role allowed him the opportunity to travel extensively through the States, Canada, and Europe while working with acts such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, and his favorite, Slash. After 15 years of being on the road, Dusty decided he was ready to keep his feet on the ground and became a bartender, then manager at the bar Tribute in LA. A car accident brought him back to Virginia to recuperate, and his passion for comic books was ignited further. With the help of his IG comic family, Dusty was able to put his heart into his work conducting online sales and auctions as well as fundraisers for his favorite causes: Smile Train and ASPCA. Dusty truly was a super hero and will be "webbed into our hearts forever!"

A memorial service will be held at a future date at the Old Smithville Burying Ground in Southport, NC.
