Obituary

Pastor David Ray Aldred, 60, of Hillsville fought the good fight and finished his race May 8, 2014. He has achieved what many left behind hope to do. He is at home with his Heavenly Father. He was the founder and Pastor of the Omega Coalition Ministries in Hillsville, VA. His greatest joy was serving the Lord Jesus Christ. He faithfully served the Lord for over 40 years preaching and upholding the Gospel at any cost, leaving behind a tremendous legacy for his family and church family. He was gifted with a Prophetic End-Time Ministry. He touched all those that came in contact with him. In his life he obtained an honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree and wrote numerous books, 4 of which have been published. He was a proud Veteran who served in the U.S. Airforce and was stationed at Shaw Airforce Base in Sumter, SC. He was also a skillful and exquisite rock and brick mason. Much of his work can be seen throughout the NRV. He received an associate degree in Business Administration from WCC and retired from the U.S. Postal service. He leaves behind three daughters, Mindy and special son-in-law Kenny Chaffin of Willis, VA, Shelly and Christian Smith of Wytheville, VA, and Ashley Aldred of Pipers Gap, VA. Also left to cherish his memories are his grandchildren, Micah David, Kylei, Marlee and Tandom. Special friend Dianna Aldred of Galax, and a spiritual family too numerous to mention. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Omega Coalition Ministries with Brother B. Wright and Pastor Andy Edmonds officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 11:00 AM until time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations may be made in his memory to Omega Coalition Ministries Mission Department. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Aldred Family.
