P. Emory Pinkerton, 92 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015. Mr. Pinkerton, along with his wife, was a missionary in the Congo for 40 years, and retired in 1992. They then moved to the Dugspur area in 1994. His parents, his wife, Ruby, of 60 years, and his sister, Jane Arloff of Lancaster, PA, precede him in death. He is survived by his six children. They are daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Michael Millar of Dugspur; son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Ann Pinkerton of Houma, LA; son and daughter-in-law, John and Sharon Pinkerton of Elmer, NJ; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Michael Verno of Gloucester City, NJ; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jill Pinkerton of East Lansing, MI; and son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Susan Pinkerton of Strathroy, Ontario, Canada. He is also survived by one brother, Al Pinkerton, and two sisters, Gladys Pinkerton and Betty Howry, along with 10 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Minister Russell Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Branscome Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time.
