Owen Dillon Dalton, 83 of Meadows of Dan, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Dalton was born in Floyd County to the late Frank James and Edna West Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Cindy Dalton; sister and brother-in-law Cora Belle and Ray Lawson; and brother, Jack Dalton. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lois Terry Dalton of the home; son and daughter-in-law Alan and Molly Dalton. of Fredericksburg, VA; daughters and sons-in-law Lora Epperly of Christiansburg, Mary and Tommy Tabor of Dublin; Connie and Brad Bryant of Christiansburg, and Cathy and Randy Lindsey of Locust, NC; eight grandchildren, Katlyn Epperly, Emily Dalton, Grace Dalton, Zachary Dalton, Thomas Tabor, Jake Tabor, Austin Lindsey, and Connor Lindsey; great grandson, Owen Ward; sister and brother-in-law, Iva and Elroy Newman of Lynchburg; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Sara Dalton of Meadows of Dan; sister-in-law, Annie Belle Dalton of Stuart, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Dalton attended New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church. He was a member of the Meadows of Dan V.F.W. Post 8467 and a former member of the Laurel Fork Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Tim McGrady, Mark Terry and Alan Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the New Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.
