Opal Delp Lyon, 76 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Lyon was born in Carroll County to the late Garnett A. & Edith Patton Delp. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother Lewis Delp. She is survived by her husband Earl Lyon of the home; sons & daughter-in-law Robert (Bob) Lyons of Frisco, TX and Timothy & Rhonda Lyon of Roanoke; granddaughters Catherine Lyon and Kimberly Lyon; brother & sister-in-law Carl & Judy Delp of Galax; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Bays and Dr. Lawrence Childs officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery. The Hillsville Chapter #71 Order of the Eastern Star will take part in the services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
