Olen Rush Martin, 78, of Hillsville passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2012 at Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Macie Adron and Verna Orphia Davis Martin; daughter, Christine Martin. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Coltrane Martin of the home; two sons and spouses, Barry and Sharon Martin of Mt. Airy, NC, Randy Martin and Tammy Cook of Hillsville; sister and brother in-law, Scharlene and Elmer Stoneman of Mocksville, NC; brother and sister-in-law, J.L. and Brenda Martin of Hillsville; one granddaughter and spouse, Kimberly and John Lane; one great granddaughter, Alhana Brinley Lane. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Wallace Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Monta Vista Memory Gardens in Galax, VA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
