Olen Thane Gardner, 78 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital. Mr. Gardner was born in Fancy Gap, Virginia to the late Eldon and Iris Bowman Gardner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Dorsey Gardner.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Utt Gardner; daughter, Holli Mayberry (Scott); sons, Tony Gardner (Lesia) and Greg Gardner; grandchildren, Nicole McAfee (Jonathan), Ashli Angle, Thane Mayberry, and Ezra Mayberry; great-grandchildren, Eli Angle and Benjamin McAfee; brothers, Leonard Gardner (Peggy), Ed Gardner (Judy), and Ronnie Gardner (Janice); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Gladesboro Lutheran Church at 12:00 noon with Pastor JoAnn Bunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, May 14 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 noon prior to the funeral services. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
