Odessa Price Phillips, 92, of Hillsville, passed away on June 16 after a short hospital stay.

She is survived by her daughter, Patti Phillips of Annandale; and three sisters, Fredda Cromer and Wanda Price of Blacksburg and Peggy McKendree of Roanoke.

She was predeceased by her husband, Elwood Phillips of Dugspur and one brother, Derl Price of Fairlawn.

Born and raised in Blacksburg, Odessa spent her married life in Dugspur where she was an active member of Calvary Bible Church. Over the years, she canned many vegetables, grew thousands of flowers, fed many hummingbirds, and most of all, loved her family.

Funeral services will be held at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Mr. Ed Lanning officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
