Odessa Lea McGrady Padgett, 84 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Padgett was born in Carroll County to the late Steve and Martha McGrady. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Rava Nester and brothers, Elihu McGrady, Owen (Tex) McGrady, and Leroy McGrady.

Survivors include her husband, Friel Padgett of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Jennifer Padgett of Galax and David and Emily Padgett of Woodlawn; sister, Ruby Carrington of Hillsville; brother, Elder Melvin McGrady of Hillsville; grandchildren, Hannah Cooper, Faith Padgett, and Hayden Padgett; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mt.
