Norma Lee Smith Henley, 78 of Galax, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Mrs. Henley was born in Grayson County to the late Charlie Freeman and Vertie May Patton Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Earl Henley of the home; children, Jama Dollyhigh (Hassell) of Mount Airy, NC; Angie Burcham of Hillsville, Jody Burcham of Galax, Aleshia Henley (Teri and Tony Ventura) of Iowa City, IA; Frank Henley (Debbie) of Henderson, NV, Susan Sierra of Hillsville, and Sonja Henley of Greensboro, NC; brother, Billy Smith (Linda) of Knoxville, TN; sister, Brenda Combs (Clinton) of Fancy Gap; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Kevin Minix officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.  A private burial will be in the Hardy Jenkins Cemetery.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
