Nina Mae Jones Sumner, 87, of Woodlawn, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Grayson Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Sumner was born in Carroll County to the late Earnest and Pattie Grey Jones. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Sumner and four sisters.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Nick Smilek of Powhatan and Judy and Frank Cummings of Galax; sister, Thelma Sizemore of Galax; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Edward Bowman and Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
