Nina Mae Banks, 82 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Banks was born in Carroll County to the late McKinley and Birtie Horton Goad. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Claude Banks; son Douglas Roger Banks; and step-sister Willa Mae Worrell. Survivors include son Samuel Claude Banks of Hillsville; brother Clarence Goad of Silver Springs, MD, half brother Clifford Goad of Hillsville; step-sister Wilma Haley of Norfolk; grandchildren and spouses Christopher and Kerri Banks of Orlando, FL, Jeremy and Carla Banks of Ft. Myers, FL, and Shanna Banks of Hillsville; great grandchildren Haylyn Banks, Landis Banks, and Ronni Banks.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept, 2, 2011 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Isaac Banks Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
