Obituary

Nila Obediah Shockley Webb, 92, of Hillsville, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Trinity Mission Nursing and Rehab.

She was born February 9, 1918 to Elmer Smith Shockley and Neatie Edwards Shockley in Carroll County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Warren Quentin Webb, a son, Quentin Ray Webb, brother Dyer Shockley, sister Gertrude Shockley Vass, grandchild Theresa Marie Alderman, and daughter-in-law Mary Burgess Webb.

Survivors include daughters Elsie Webb Alderman and husband Gaylon of Cleveland, OK, Carolyn Webb Giannini of Richmond, VA, sons Ernest Wayne Webb and wife Joyce of Hillsville, William Dyer Webb and wife Donna of Roanoke, Glenn David Webb of Hillsville, Robert Edward Webb and wife Shelia of Lawton, OK, Terry Elmer Webb of Hillsville, sister Forthe Shockley Lintecum of Hillsville, Dossie Shockley Hall and husband Charlie of Hillsville, 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church for over 70 years and also attended Dalton Hill Christian Church much of her life.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville with Elder Ronald Bowman and Rev. Vinton Quesenberry officiating. Burial will follow at the Shockley Cemetery on Coon Ridge Road. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
