Nelda Juanita Stone, 89 of Austinville, passed away peacefully at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C. on November 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born August 4, 1936 to Harrison Currell and Louise Bays Myers.  She is survived by her children, Jeanne (Olen) Gallimore, Ed (Diane) Stone, David (Leona) Stone, Brenda (Danny) Beasley, and Dennis (Norma) Stone; sisters, Ollie Newman, Bonnie Burnette, and Frances (Billy) Mabe; sisters-in-law, Virginia King, Myrtle Peverall, Bertha (Troy) Marshall, and Goldie Stone; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Herbert Stone; sister, Olene (Haywood) Thompson; and brothers-in-law, Buford Newman and Ray Burnette.

A special thank-you to Glenn Dalton, Jr. and Carol Burris, caregivers, whose kindness, patience, compassion, and loving care brought comfort during her final years.  The family would also like to express their deepest appreciation to Mountain Valley Hospice Galax Staff and the wonderful team at Woltz Hospice Home, whose gentle care and guidance brought comfort to both our loved one and our family.  The family gratefully welcomes flowers and for those who prefer, contributions to Woltz Hospice Home in Juanita's memory.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Victory Way Baptist Church, Hillsville, VA.  A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Joe Bryant and Minister Steven Dalton officiating.  Burial will be in the Myers Cemetery on Ridge Road.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
