Nancy Mae Horton, 88 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Victor & Mary Bertha McGrady Dickerson. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband James E. (Tom) Horton. She is survived by her son Dr. Bobby Kenneth Horton of Hillsville; daughters & sons-in-law Nancy Carolyn Horton & Maynard Joyce of Hillsville, Patricia Ann & Marvin Lee Taylor, Jr. of Allisonia, Debra Jean Horton of Mt. Airy, NC, and Sharon Lea & Lee Edward Effler of Radford; sister Martha Princess Jennings; granddaughters & spouses Ashleigh Payne, Jamie & Jeremiah Seagle, and Trista & Kevin Trail; and great grandchildren Katelyn Payne, Kaleb Payne, and Kyleigh Payne.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dustin Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
