Myrtle Goad Martin, 84, of Village Glen in Princeton, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at her home. She was born on June 13, 1922 in Hillsville, VA to the late George Washington Goad and Lula Bell Nester Goad. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years Clain Martin of the home; daughter Betty Martin Cook and her husband Donald of Princeton, WV; two sons Roger Martin and his wife June of Coalwood, WV and Clinton Martin and his wife Yvonne of Hillsville; two brothers Linvol Goad of Hillsville and Glenn Goad and his wife Alice of Radford; eleven grandchildren Annette Thompson, Scott Cook and wife Kim, Christie Cook, Patrick Martin and his wife Rhea, Matthew Martin and his wife LeAnn, Adam Martin, Randy Martin, Angela Martin, Nicholas Martin and his wife Nikki, Desiree Martin and Beverly Perry and her husband Joey; and six great grandchildren Matthew Thompson, Amanda Cook, Brett Martin, Kirsten Martin, Darian Martin and Peyton Martin.

Graveside services with burial following will be Friday, January 19, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Goad Cemetery with Rev. Scott Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday night at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville.
