Moyier Elwood Horton, 87 of Hillsville passed away on January 7, 2021. He was preceded in death by: Leonard and Vesta Horton, Alta Davis, Lois Branscome, Dewel Horton, and Lonnie Horton.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Joyce Branscome Horton; children, Cynthia Horton Blevins (Virgil Blevins), Susan Horton Thompson (Bobby Thompson), Mark Elwood Horton (Connie Horton) and Jeffrey Damon Horton (Lorrie Horton); grandchildren, Sarah Horton Shinault (Kyle Shinault), Jared Horton, Luke Horton, Logan Thompson, Lane Horton, and Afton Thompson; great-grandchild, Palmer Gray Shinault; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie Faye and Charles Sumner, Eva Sue and Bennie Nester, and Dana Lou and Elden Marshall; and sister-in-law, Jo Ann Horton.

Mr. Horton was retired from Radford Arsenal. He enjoyed farming, trading tractors, motorcycles and ATV's and being outdoors. He was a wonderful provider for his family. The family would like to express a special thank you to Twin County Regional Hospital, Grayson Health and Rehab and Mountain Valley Hospice for their great care.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
