Mittie L. Coulson Bowman, 93 of Austinville, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Golden Living Center-Blue Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Jones Bowman; and sons Everett Bowman and Donald Bowman. Mrs. Bowman is survived by her daughters & son-in-law Thelma Bunn of Hillsville, Barbara Wittensoldner of Hartville, OH, Velda Jones of Austinville and Margie & Clifford Byrd of High Point, NC; sons & daughters-in-law Darrell & Clara Bowman of Akron, OH, Paul Jones, Jr. and Betty Bowman of Galax, Charles & Reva Bowman of Austinville, J.D. & Elza Bowman of Mt. Airy, NC, Elder Ronald Bowman of Austinville and Bernard (Tom) & Judy Bowman of Austinville; daughter-in-law Betty Ruth Bowman of Galax; sister Vergie Stone of Austinville; sister-in-law Sadie Coulson of Austinville; 38 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren and 42 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Edward Bowman and Elder Tim McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Saturday night at the church.
