Mirlyn (aka) Marlin Howard Worrell 70 years old, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Beacon Place in Greensboro, NC after a short battle with cancer.

He was born in Carroll County on November 5th, 1938, to the late Howard R. and Alvilda Dalton Worrell. He is survived by his wife Virginia Worrell of the home; one son Mark A. Worrell of Northfield, OH; three daughters & sons-in-law Barbara A. and husband Mark Bragg of OH, Christine and husband Rich Thompson of OH, and Susan M. Worrell of Cary, NC; also the mother of his children Betty Jane Worrell of Northfield, OH; one step-daughter Monica Meyers of Level Cross, NC; two sisters and brother-in-law Ann W. Semones of Greensboro, NC; Linda W. and Ray Martin of Hillsville, VA; two brothers and sister-in-law Glenn Wood and Loretta Worrell and Gary W. Worrell all of Woodlawn; grandchildren Michael, Larry, and Melissa Bragg, Maranda and Marissa Thompson all of OH; two step-grandchildren Justin Frenchak and Rayne Meyers of NC; and one great granddaughter Alexi Riley of OH. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins survive as well.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, June 6th, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
