Minnie Stilwell Surratt, 96 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at her daughters residence. Mrs. Surratt was preceded in death by her parents Andrew & Susie Montgomery Stillwell; husband Lester Lee Surratt; daughter Lucille Surratt; son Clinton Surratt; She is survived by three sons & daughters-in-law, Lester & Nancy Surratt of Martinsville, Elbert & Darlene Surratt, and Carl & Nancy Surratt of Hillsville; five daughters & sons-in-law, Pauline Marshall of Laurel Fork, Wilma Gardner of Galax, Janet & Paul Horton, Minnie & Roger Spangler and Betty Atkins of Hillsville; brother & sister-in-law, Isaac & Sylvia Stilwell of Hillsville; daughter-in-law, Barbara Surratt of Galax; 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great granddaughter survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday February 02, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Ronald Bowman, Elder Lewis Vass and Elder Tim McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Surratt Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday February 01, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady-Chapel.
