Minnie Evelyn Spangler, 66 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Spangler was born in Virginia to the late Lester & Minnie Mae Stilwell Surratt. She is survived by her husband, Roger Spangler of the home; daughter & son-in-law Renee & Jerry, Jr. Rutherford of Galax; sons & daughter-in-law Ricky & Vickie Spangler and Robby Spangler all of Hillsville; four grandchildren Ashley Spangler, Kaitlyn Spangler, Joshua Spangler and Levi Rutherford; sisters & brother-in-law Pauline Marshall of Laurel Fork, Wilma Gardner of Galax, Janet & Paul Horton of Hillsville and Betty Atkins of Hillsville; brothers & sisters-in-law Lester & Nancy Surratt of Martinsville, Elbert & Darlene Surratt of Hillsville, and Carl & Nancy Surratt of Hillsville; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with burial following will be held in the Surratt Cemetery on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jimmy Young, Elder Ronald Bowman, and Rev. Norman Goad officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
