Mildred Janette Yates Dalton, 84 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at her home.  Mrs. Dalton was born in Russell County, VA to the late Grover E. and Jessie R. Greer Yates.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Darrel Yates and Gerald Yates.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Delmon B. Dalton; son, Danny Lee Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri Boyd and Johnnie; grandchildren and spouses, Rosa Gallimore and Carson, Autumn Boyd Akers, and Morgin Largen and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Gallimore, Adalynn Gallimore, Laken Boyd, Tobias Akers, and Zeke Akers; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue Douglas and Walter and Norma Bishop and Larry; and a lot of special friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Mount Airy Dialysis, and Mountain Valley Hospice for their care of Mildred.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Stone Mountain Baptist Church at 12:00 PM with Pastor Greg Lamb and Pastor Roland McCraw officiating.  Burial will follow in the Nester Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
