Mildred Emoline Myers White, 98, of Hillsville, VA passed away at Pruitt Healthcare of Elkin, NC on July 22, 2015. Born March 26, 1917, in Carroll County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edgar and Mary Emma Hailey Myers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Cruise White. She was also preceded in death by eight of her nine siblings; Chester, Dewey, Currell, Dars, and Harold Myers, Carrie Myers Ogle, Minnie Myers Taylor, and Helen Myers Brash. Mildred is survived by her four children: Joel Robert White, Sr. and wife, Linda, James Edgar White and wife Linda, Brenda White Thompson and husband, Robert, and Matthew Randal White and wife Dawn. She was survived by nine grandchildren: Joel Robert White, Jr. and wife, Eva, Lynn White-Huggins and husband Dave, Kimberly Clements and husband, Vince, and Timothy White and wife, Judy: Gregory White and wife, Pamela, Cindy Poe and husband, Randy, and David White and wife, Elizabeth; Andrew Thompson; and Christina White: thirteen great grandchildren: Brieanna, Brian, Lace, Ethan, Cailin, Theresa, Timothy, Jr., Christopher, Jeremiah, Jacob, Micah, Luke and Dianna; five great-great grandchildren: Christopher, Devin, Jaelyn, Kira, and Kenna. Step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Robert, Britt, Amber, Katherine, Orion, Allie, Hunter, Zachery, Daniel, Christin, Tara, Megan, Leigha, David, Mitch, Allen, and Daniella. She is also survived by one sister, Maggie Myers White and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Harold (Alene) Myers. Mildred cherished her time with the Lord, being a long standing member of the Dalton Hill Christian Church in Hillsville and a congregant at Victory Way Baptist Church, Hillsville, and Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, Mount Airy, NC later in life as she went with her children. Mildred's greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family. She also loved gardening and quilting. A celebration of Mildred's life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015, visitation at 10:00 AM with funeral service at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel 1035 North Main Street, Hillsville, VA 24343. Interment will follow at the White-Allen Cemetery, 142 Pine Grove Road, Austinville, VA 24312. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pruitt Hospice 902 West D. Street, Suite B. North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
