Mildred Faye Bowman, 67, of Laurel Fork passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Edward Bowman; son, Sterling Bowman; mother, Georgia Largen Bowman. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Tammy Bowman of Laurel Fork; father, Mason Bowman of Laurel Fork; sisters and brother-in-law, Bonnie Nester of Falls Church, VA, and Mabel and Bill Tate of Hillsville; and grandson, Daniel Bowman. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Rome Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremy Hendrick and Pastor Shannon Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Rome Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Bowman family.
