Milburn Everett Barnes 80, of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA. He was a past member of the Hillsville Volunteer Fire Department and past quarter master and lifetime member of Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. Mr. Barnes was also a member of Round Knob Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 1691. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his wife Imogene Martin Barnes; parents Isaac & Mary Ann Barnes. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law Michael & Kathy Barnes of Hillsville; daughter & son-in-law Cindy & Michael Mann of Pinnacle, NC; sister Orethia Bowman of Stoneville, NC; brothers-in-laws & spouses Ernest & Martha Lee Martin of Hillsville, Jerry & Linda Kay Martin of Broomfield, CO, and Wade & Nevada Martin of Hillsville; sister-in-law Maxine Martin of Galax; granddaughter Sarah Mann. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 02, 2010 at 1:30 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Bobby Webb and Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. Burial will follow in the C.C. Webb Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 02, 2010 from 12:00 PM until service time. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
