Michael E. Horton, 55 of Hixson, TN, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Hospice at Standifer Place in Tennessee. Mr. Horton was born on October 21, 1955 in Hillsville, VA. He was preceded in death by his mother Jeanette D. Horton. Mr. Horton is survived by his wife Wannee (Tip) Horton of the home; daughter Surekha (Rae) Prachuapsuk of the home; son William (Will) Edward Horton of the home; father & mother Ed & Nita Horton of Hillsville; and siblings Robin Homesley & husband Scott of Whispering Pines, NC, Chris Mauck and wife Shonna Williams of Bell Spring, VA, Shannon Mauck and wife Erina of Easley, SC and April MacMackin and husband Jason of Blue Ridge, VA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:30 PM with Pastor Scott Homesley and Pastor Ty Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb-Skyview Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the funeral service.
