Michael Claude Crowder, 56 of Independence, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at his home. Mr. Crowder was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Claude Jackson and Neda Florence Westmoreland Crowder. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sister, Faye Hudson; brother, Billy Crowder; and brother-in-law, Wade Sharp.

Survivors include his sisters, Rhea Sharp, Barbara Barber and husband, Glenn, Mary Katherine Williams and husband, Carney, and Rita Bowman and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastor Wilma Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Myers Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
