Michael Anthony Chappell, 52, of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Chappell was born in Bangor, Maine to the late Marcus and Rita Diane Gray Chappell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Valerie Cochran. Survivors include his wife, Naomi Chappell of the home; children, Betty Solorzano of Austin, TX, Travis Chappell of Florida, and Shane Chappell of North Carolina; step children and spouses, David and Ashley Riness of Michigan, Jeremy and Melissa Duthler of Michigan, Kyle Duthler of Virginia and Jennifer Duthler of Virginia; brother, William Chappell of Hillsville; eight grandchildren; niece, Erica Chappell; and nephews, Matthew Cochran and Justin Allen. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Akers Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
