Melvin D. Hall, 82 of Austinville, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at his home. Mr. Hall was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Elmer Wilson and Hattie Caroline Whitt Hall. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Clinton Hall and Douglas Wilson Hall and sister, Ellen Beasley.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Peggy J. Hall of the home; children and spouses, Dean and Donna Hall, Loretta and Wesley Stoots, Ronnie and Debra Hall, Randy and Bonnie Hall, Kimberly Shupe and special friend, Mark Shupe, and Bradley and Misty Hall all of Austinville; brothers, Maynard Hall, Raymond Hall, Russell Hall and O'dell Hall all of Austinville; sisters, Lura Jenkins of Tennessee and Marie Lewis of Hillsville; twelve grandchildren, David Hall, Samantha Akers, Misty Dalton, Brittany Jackson, Eric Hall, Lindsay Martin, Chris Hall, Aaron Hall, Marcus Shupe, Isaiah Puckett, Jacob Hall and Rachel Hall; and thirteen great grandchildren, Kassidy White, Drew Hall, Sophie Hall, Noah Akers, Landon Jackson, Caleb Jackson, Maddy Martin, Maiya Martin, Myles Martin, Emma Hall, Joe Hall, Ava Hall, and Davaney Hall.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at United in Christ Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. Hal Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Shorts Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
