Melvin Daniel Goad, 79 of Salem, VA passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026. He was born August 15, 1946 in Hillsville, VA, son of the late Berlie Alvin and Geneva Goad. He was a drywall mechanic with Harma Ceiling & Partitions. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Goad Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Sue Hall Goad; sons, Derrick A. Goad and Daniel M. Goad; sister, Arlene Goad Plummer; brothers, Roger Goad and DelRay Goad; numerous extended family.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday, July 17, 2026 at Oakey's South Chapel with Rev. Taylor Plott. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Goad Family Cemetery, Hillsville, VA. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
